Democracy is an audience participation sport.

The Citizen Wish List Project is an effort to engage the fellow citizens in a dialog about what we want, what's working and for sharing good ideas for improving quality of life.

The beautiful thing about democracy is that it is meant to represent the will of the people. It is flexible and adaptable and able to change according to the needs of our society. 

The problem is, too few people are participating in the process.

Another serious problem is those serving in government are too often not serving the needs of those they represent and the greater good, but themselves. 





Perhaps you feel your voice will not be heard.
Perhaps you feel there is nothing you can do to change things. Not true.
Please choose to be part of a solution by sharing your wishes.

By choosing to participate in this social experiment you are empowering yourself and helping to create a better future now and for our children. It is my hope that we compile a compendium of good ideas and a critical mass of participants that will enable us to create some new guidelines for decision making seven generations on. That our children's children's children's children's children's children look back on our time and say 'That was such a dynamic time. Our time and our lives are good today and we are the beneficiaries of the sound decision making before us. It was sensible, just, culturally, economically & environmentally sensitive and quite progressive. It has served us well and enabled us to focus on higher goals.' But it has been hijacked by greed and disappointed many in the past 50 years that I know of personally.

Yes, I'm aiming for the sun and the moon and the stars, maybe.

But stranger things have happened . . .




HOW IT WORKS:

In 10-15 minutes you can answer 8 core subject questions and a few control questions in this first conversation starter.

Through a series of simple questions we will begin a dialog centered on eight central themes which are common to all human beings. There are no right or wrong answers, only ideas for positive change or examples we know of something that is really working well.

Think of these eight topics of discussion as the conversation starters for a two-year long series of Cultural Compass Fireside Chats we'll have, collectively. I want to sort this mess out by 20/20. OK?

     FAMILY, EDUCATION, WORK, ENVIRONMENT, SECURITY, PR & The MEDIA, HEALTHCARE & MONEY

We will discuss each theme in greater depth as the participants, that's YOU & many other neighbors, share your wishes and feedback.

This is a long term project as these topics require an in-depth dialog to really find solutions to the portions of our governmental & neighborly relations which aren't quite right. The Cultural Compass Institute, o.s. is committed to this project until the year 20/20. By that time the Citizen Wish List will have either grown legs and already begun to be an engine for positive change and widely used tool for participating in the democratic process or not. But if it does, with your help, Oh, the places we'll go . . .  






This project was introduced at the opening of the FIRST EVER 12-City TransEuropean Festival of Arts, Culture & Politics on May 6th, 2011 in Prague.


The TransEuro Fest is managed by European  Alternatives, a non-profit organization dedicated to Democracy, Equality and Culture Beyond the Nation State.

WHO WE ARE:

The Citizen Wish List Project was created by a single citizen. It is managed by The Cultural Compass Institute Association, Spol. a registered civil society, non-governmental, not for profit organization registered in the Czech Republic.

The Cultural Compass Institute Association works globally and is dedicated to Good Works & Good Neighborly Relations.

We offer training programs, services and events to help foster an Economic Stimulus thru 360 Degrees of Cultural Understanding. More info on any of that HERE

It is our hope that this project will spark an unprecedented level of citizen participation from neighbors worldwide. 

It is also our hope that contributors to the Citizen Wish List  will also spread the word about this project and USE any good ideas to improve the quality of life in their neighborhoods.  So, where are we heading?
